Michelle is commited to helping non-traditional students, such as special needs and at-risk students. As a Donovan Scholar, she was trained to work with urban and special needs students.

Her commitment to serving this population is exemplified in her founding Project Prentiss, a nonprofit in Boston committed to the rehabilitation of former gang members, which she continues to oversee on a volunteer basis.

Michelle plans to one day set up a tutoring scholarship program for inner city students who need academic assistance, especially in encouraging their successful transition to college.
